Experience
Hannah Ashbrook supports government contractors and their insurance carriers in matters arising under the Defense Base Act (DBA) and War Hazards Compensation Act (WHCA). She assists with the evaluation and defense of claims involving civilian employees working overseas and represents clients in proceedings before U.S. Department of Labor administrative bodies. In her work on WHCA matters, Hannah helps prepare and manage reimbursement submissions related to injuries linked to war-risk events. She is engaged in all stages of the claims process and collaborates with senior attorneys to ensure clients receive practical, timely guidance on these specialized issues.
Before joining Goldberg Segalla, Hannah practiced insurance defense litigation, drafting appeal briefs, motions in limine, motions to dismiss, and other dispositive motions. She also gained a broad base of experience through a number of legal intern and summer associate positions: analyzing caselaw and developing memoranda in support of Hatch-Waxman litigation, researching and summarizing health data privacy matters including HIPAA compliance, and handling client intake meetings at a law and technology clinic.
