Experience
Michael A. Thompson is an experienced litigator with a successful record of defending government contractors and their insurance carriers against lawsuits brought by workers who claim they suffered injuries while working overseas on U.S. military and NATO installations.
A partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act practice group, he litigates cases in federal court and before the U.S. Department of Labor’s judicial and administrative tribunals. Michael oversees the firm’s War Hazards team pursuing subrogation and recovery of liability awards from the Department of Labor on behalf of insurance carriers for injuries occurring as a result of a war-risk hazard.
Michael, who is based in Manhattan, counsels clients on their rights throughout the litigation process and advises them of their obligations as they pertain to stringent federal regulations.
Aside from his defense work involving matters under the Defense Base and War Hazard Compensation acts, Michael’s experience also involves securities litigation and compliance, immigration law, and criminal defense.
