Experience
Robert C. Shea is an experienced litigator who represents publicly held corporations, parent, and subsidiary organizations in a range of general liability, tort, and insurance defense matters, including cases involving premises liability and personal injury claims. Robert zealously advocates on behalf of his clients in all aspects of litigation, advancing their best interests through motion practice, trial proceedings, and in mediation sessions. He has extensive experience crafting written demands and responses for discovery information, including expert disclosure, HIPAA-compliant medical authorizations and service contracts, and analyzing medical and insurance records in preparation for discovery demands and settlement negotiations.
Before entering private practice, Robert served as deputy county attorney in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office, where he handled thousands of matters in the Nassau County Family Court and conducted hearings on behalf of the Department of Social Services and various interstate and international Social Service Departments through the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act. At that time, he also volunteered as counsel on behalf of the Nassau County Department of Probation for Raise the Age Juvenile Delinquency petitions regarding both violent and non-violent offenses of juvenile delinquents.
