Experience
Russell J. Edwards is an experienced employment law attorney who represents public- and private-sector employers in all aspects of employee relations and litigation. He has defended clients facing wage-and-hour class and collective actions, unfair labor practice charges, and discrimination claims brought under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Equal Pay Act, Fair Housing Act, Rehabilitation Act, New York State Human Rights Law, and New York City Human Rights Law.
With a clear understanding of his clients’ goals, Russell develops and executes strategies to limit their exposure, including mediating pre-suit employment law claims and guiding clients through early resolution to avoid costly litigation and trial. In many instances, however, litigation is the best path forward, and Russell has successfully obtained dismissals and favorable outcomes for his clients in federal and state courts and federal, state, and local agencies.
Russell’s practice also includes regularly counseling employers and helping them proactively reduce risk by drafting appropriate workplace policies, employment agreements, and employee handbooks.
