Experience
Skyler R. Morgan focuses her practice on assisting a range of commercial clients in finding creative and cost-effective ways to resolve both basic and complex commercial disputes. Skyler handles a variety of matters for small and large business owners, property owners, private equity investors, and other clients in civil litigation, corporate, and bankruptcy spaces, including contract drafting, contract disputes, defense in bankruptcy litigation, liquidation defense in the assignment for the benefit of creditors (ABCs) proceedings, premises liability, and more. Skyler regularly advises clients on both corporate issues such as corporate and LLC formation, governance and dissolution, and a variety of debt collection practices. Her practice also includes advising clients on complex federal and state fraudulent transfer and preference actions on previously paid invoices; the implications of Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcies on pending litigation, settlement, and business operations; and UCC filings to perfect and maintain purchase money security interests (PMSI) as well as liens on various items sold or leased in a business.
Skyler draws on experience representing the interests of unsecured trade creditors, small and large businesses, hospitals, and health care providers against allegations of negligence or preferential creditor treatment, where she was engaged in all stages of litigation from initial client meetings through preparation for trial, mediation, and arbitration. Skyler’s background also includes contract drafting for small businesses while working as a legal intern for the Entrepreneur’s Assistance Clinic, bankruptcy proceedings and commercial litigation while working as a law clerk, and a judicial externship with the Hon. William Arbuckle for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
