Experience
Melanie J. Condon focuses her practice on counseling and defending insurers in a variety of complex coverage matters. She is involved in all stages of insurance coverage litigation, including preparing cases for filing; drafting complaints and written discovery; conducting legal research in preparation for motion hearings; and participating in depositions, hearings, and mediations. Melanie draws on experience as a claims specialist for a national mutual insurance company, collaborating with defense counsel on defense strategy, mediation, arbitration, and settlements, and coordinating with coverage counsel on claims that have significant coverage issues and high exposure.
While in law school, Melanie gained experience researching and drafting memoranda on various laws, regulations and policies through legal internships with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Special Litigation Unit of the Legal Aid Society, and the Office of the New York State Attorney General Health Care Bureau.
