Lewis Y. Liu counsels and defends manufacturers of consumer and automotive products as well as food and beverages in product liability matters throughout Illinois. Lewis is engaged in litigation from inception through resolution, analyzing the law and facts to develop defense strategy, drafting dispositive motions for summary judgment, personal jurisdiction, forum non conveniens, choice of law and statute of limitations, defending depositions, and strategically cross-examining witnesses.

Before joining private practice, Lewis served as assistant state’s attorney for the misdemeanor and traffic court divisions of the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office, managing jury and bench trials, bond and warrant hearings, arraignments, evidentiary hearings, pre- and post-trial motions, sentencing, probation hearings, and expungements. He developed trial strategies, interviewed witnesses, analyzed evidence, drafted arguments, designed case presentations, and exercised jury selection.
