Experience
Elizabeth La Rue focuses her practice on representing government contractors and their insurance carriers in matters arising under the Defense Base Act (DBA) and the War Hazards Compensation Act (WHCA). She works with clients to evaluate and defend claims involving civilian employees deployed overseas and assists in matters before the U.S. Department of Labor’s administrative and judicial tribunals. Elizabeth also supports clients in navigating WHCA reimbursement claims related to injuries attributed to war-risk hazards.
Eliza brings prior experience from her tenure as an Assistant District Attorney with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted felony cases from investigation through disposition. In that role, she drafted and argued legal motions, indicted cases in the Grand Jury, conducted preliminary hearings, and handled all aspects of case development. Her litigation background informs her strategic approach to complex DBA and WHCA matters and enables her to effectively advocate for clients throughout the claims process.
