Matthew V. Bruno, an associate in Goldberg Segalla’s Business and Commercial Practice Group, obtained a defense verdict in Bronx Supreme Court following a three-week trial. Matthew represented a box truck owner and driver in the $5.4 million personal injury case involving a New York City police vehicle. After a police van hit our client’s truck, the plaintiff alleged traumatic brain injury and a lower-back injury. The city alleged that the police van was an emergency vehicle. However, Matthew demonstrated that the police vehicle was the sole proximate cause of this accident, resulting in the defense verdict for our client.
