Albert Joseph Holl

A.J. Holl joins Goldberg Segalla as special counsel in the firm’s Transportation, Product Liability, and General Liability Practice Groups. Based centrally in the firm’s Chicago office, he fills a dynamic role — investigations counsel — working across practice groups and serving clients nationally.

Drawing on 25 years of combined investigative and legal experience, A.J. deploys to critical incidents and catastrophic accident scenes and conducts and coordinates investigations critical to assessing exposure and risk for clients involved in major litigation. When the stakes are highest, clients rely on A.J. to:

  • Provide timely and crucial information to key stakeholders
  • Engage investigative and expert resources
  • Identify key witnesses
  • Preserve critical evidence and documents

Before entering private practice, A.J. spent 17 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in New York City, Washington, D.C., Corpus Christi, and overseas, handling sensitive investigations involving national and international violent drug trafficking, the 9-11 terrorist attacks and subsequent counterterrorism efforts, and more. In 2005, he was appointed as the head of the FBI Office in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service, the Justice Department’s highest service award, for work that resulted in the disruption of an active terrorism plot.
