Caroline J. Berdzik Quoted in “What President Obama’s Re-Election Means for the Future of Long-Term Care,” Long-Term Living

Caroline J. Berdzik, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Labor and Employment and Professional Liability Practice Groups, provided her perspective on the re-election of President Obama to Long Term Living magazine. According to Caroline, the “LTC space should prepare for more regulatory activities.” Caroline suggests that there will likely be a flurry of new regulations from a number of government agencies such as OSHA, EEOC, and the Department of Labor.

She also said that since repeal of the Affordable Care Act is unlikely, long term care providers “will have to strategically prepare for these changes and also evaluate, if they have not done so already, how this will affect health insurance offerings to their employees. You may have employers looking to significantly reduce hours of employees to avoid increased health insurance costs.”
