The Defense Research Institute (DRI), the largest international membership organization of defense attorneys, recently established the Tom Segalla Chair of the Law Institute in honor of Thomas F. Segalla, Co-Chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services Practice Group and a founding partner of the firm.

The new chair, a position that will be held by future chairpersons DRI’s Law Institute, recognizes Tom’s longtime commitment to DRI and a generous gift by Tom and his wife Mary Lou to benefit the organization. Additionally, DRI will establish in Tom’s honor an Excellence in Education Award to acknowledge his passion for raising the standards of excellence and ethics in the legal profession.

“I know that I speak for all the officers, past presidents, board members, and leadership when I say that he has been a hugely influential leader within DRI, and has set the standard for excellence in education that we will be honoring with this new award,” said DRI President Mary Massaron Ross in an article saluting Tom’s career in For the Defense, DRI’s flagship publication.
