Excellence Recognized: Four Practice Groups and Five Attorneys Honored by Chambers USA
Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce that our Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation and Counsel, Employment and Labor, and Global Insurance Services practice groups have earned rankings in the 2025 Chambers USA Guide. Additionally, attorneys Christopher J. Belter, David L. Brown, Michael A. Hamilton, David S. Osterman, and Christopher P. Maugans all earned individual rankings in this year’s edition. These practice groups and attorneys were recognized in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Commercial Litigation
Goldberg Segalla’s Commercial Litigation practice group again earned a Band 3 ranking in the Litigation: General Commercial category for Upstate New York.
Chambers USA commended the practice for its “commitment to excellence” and wide range of legal services, spanning routine counsel to complex litigation arising from multi-jurisdictional transactions, shareholder disputes, class actions, and intellectual property conflicts. Client feedback said the practice is “strategic, responsive, and easy to work with.”
Christopher J. Belter, partner and Chief Operating Officer, also earned a Band 3 ranking as an individual attorney in the Litigation: General Commercial category for Upstate New York for the tenth consecutive year. Chambers USA recognized Belter for his strong capabilities in securities litigation and energy-related disputes.
Construction
Goldberg Segalla’s Construction Litigation and Counsel practice group earned a Band 4 ranking in the Construction category for all of New York State. Clients cited the following about the practice group: “A full-service law firm with highly qualified attorneys in major cities across the country.”
Consistently noted for his versatility and ability to handle large-scale energy infrastructure projects, Belter also earned an individual Band 3 ranking in the Construction category for New York State. Employment and Labor
Goldberg Segalla’s Employment and Labor practice group again earned a Band 2 ranking in the Labor and Employment category for Upstate New York.
Chambers USA emphasized the group’s “strong knowledge of public sector labor and employment law” as the firm has built a top-notch reputation in numerous labor matters, including dismissal challenges, a diverse range of discrimination claims, labor relations, employment contracts, and collective bargaining.
Buffalo-based partner Christopher P. Maugans, vice chair of the firm’s nationwide Employment and Labor practice group, earned an individual Band 3 ranking in the Labor and Employment category for Upstate New York. Insurance
Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services practice group earned a Band 3 ranking in the Insurance category for Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia-based partner Michael A. Hamilton earned an individual Band 2 ranking in the Insurance category for Pennsylvania. As a leader of the firm’s Global Insurance Services team in Pennsylvania, clients pointed to his leadership abilities and insurance knowledge: “He’s a leader in the field who knows what he’s talking about.”
Greensboro-based partner David L. Brown, co-chair of the firm’s national Global Insurance Services practice group, earned a Band 1 ranking in the Insurance category for North Carolina, which is an elite distinction that reflects his superior achievement and dedication to our clients. Product Liability
Princeton-based partner David S. Osterman again earned an individual Band 3 ranking in the Litigation: Product Liability category for New Jersey.
Osterman is credited by Chambers USA for being “a highly regarded lawyer in the product liability space and is known for his work in civil action matters and class action litigation.”
