Goldberg Segalla, one of the largest and fastest-growing law firms in the United States, recently added eight attorneys to its Global Insurance Services, Employment and Labor, and Management and Professional Liability Practice Groups in Southern California.

This substantial growth — which closely follows the opening of Goldberg Segalla’s Los Angeles office in January and its Orange County office in August — reflects the firm’s continued commitment to adding only lawyers handpicked to meet its clients’ diverse legal needs in each market and beyond.

Insurance Coverage

The firm added partner Albert K. Alikin, a highly experienced insurance coverage litigator, in Los Angeles.  Alikin focuses on defending bad faith claims and handling complex disputes involving a broad range of policies. He also defends clients including insurance brokers, agents, and third-party administrators in professional liability actions, and has substantial experience litigating toxic tort, general liability, and breach of contract actions.

Employment Law and Professional Liability

Goldberg Segalla added seven attorneys focused on employment law and professional liability, all of whom practice from the firm’s Los Angeles and Orange County offices:

  • Peter J. Woo, a partner who will serve as vice chair of the firm’s nationwide Employment and Labor Practice Group;
  • Stephen C. Mazzara, a partner;
  • David Y. Choi, a partner;
  • Victor T. Xu, an associate;
  • Lisa L. Peterson, an associate; and
  • Erica B. Row, an associate.

This team brings deep and varied experience in employment litigation and counseling, human resources training, labor relations, civil rights claims, and municipal liability; as well as experience defending multimillion-dollar claims against professionals across nearly every major industry, including high-stakes directors and officers (D&O) matters, the defense of architects and engineers involved in high-profile projects, and legal malpractice claims.
