Goldberg Segalla added Aastha Kataky-Alvarez to the firm’s Toxic Tort and Environmental Law practice groups in Newark.
Aastha counsels and defends product manufacturers, developers, property owners and other businesses in toxic tort and environmental litigation and regulatory matters. She is involved in all stages of litigation, including pre-suit case assessment, drafting motions, pleadings and briefs, conducting legal research, preparing for and participating in depositions, and assisting with trials and appeals. Drawing on her experience handling residential and commercial tax appeals, as well as land use and zoning matters, Aastha translates complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, business-focused guidance. Prior to entering private practice, Aastha served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Christine M. Nugent of the New Jersey Tax Court in Newark, where she assisted the court in resolving complex substantive and procedural tax matters and litigation, contributing to the legal analysis underlying the court’s decisions.
Aastha earned her B.A. from Binghamton University and her J.D. from the Albany Law School of Union University.
