J. Daniel Velez focuses his practice on defending high-profile retail corporations and landowners in a wide variety of litigation. With experience handling high-volume caseloads and formulating winning defense strategies, Velez handles all aspects of litigation for his clients, from inception to completion. Velez also draws on experience from inside the insurance industry. Before entering private practice, he held a graduate internship with a firm that serves as in-house corporate counsel for State Farm Insurance.
Velez attended Hofstra University School of Law where he proudly served as President of the Latino/a Law Student Association and served on the Dean’s Minority Affairs/Strategic Planning Committee. During that time, he was a judicial intern and mentee to the Hon. Sallie Manzanet-Daniels in the New York State Supreme Court, Bronx County.
