Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Richard A. Galbo
Goldberg Segalla added partner Richard A. Galbo, a trial attorney with three decades of experience advising the insurance industry, to the firm’s Global Insurance Services practice in Buffalo.
Rich counsels insurers on coverage obligations and policy language and litigates insurance coverage disputes in New York Supreme Court, the appellate division, and the U.S. Court of Appeals. He regularly provides large national and international insurers with counsel to resolve insurance coverage issues and disputes regarding commercial, personal lines, and excess policies. He draws on experience as the former principal of his own firm and as an assistant general counsel, litigation manager, and manager of claims-related services for two major liability insurance companies. His background also includes experience litigating and trying toxic tort, labor law, and general negligence claims. Rich’s many accolades include a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent, Best Lawyers of Western New York, and Upstate New York Super Lawyers.
Rich earned his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College and his juris doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law. He is a member of Defense Research Institute, Erie County Bar Association, and New York State Bar Association.
“I have spent the last 35 years counseling insurance companies on coverage and claim matters in large-and small-firm settings and as in-house counsel to a Fortune 500 insurer,” Rich said. “I am very excited to join the Goldberg Segalla Global Insurance Services team as I will be afforded many opportunities to use my experience to serve the firm’s insurance clients as part of a dynamic and growing organization.”
“We are thrilled for Rich to join Goldberg Segalla and become a member of Global Insurance Services,” said Jeffrey L. Kingsley, co-chair of the practice. “Rich brings over 30 years of experience in handling a wide range of coverage issues nationwide. He is the perfect example of what we strive to be―an excellent lawyer and an even better person.”
