Goldberg Segalla’s Jason A. Botticelli, a certified divemaster and the firm’s national coordinating counsel for SCUBA diving professional liability claims, has been selected for the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) Training Subcommittee for Recreational Diving.

An organization that is known worldwide for its diver training standards, NAUI offers dive certification and education programs internationally. As part of the Training Subcommittee, Jason will review, update, and maintain training standards for recreational diving to maintain quality and continuity with NAUI’s goals and standards.

Jason is an experienced litigator who concentrates his practice on toxic tort, product liability, and diving professional liability matters. He defends clients in state and federal courts in New York and Pennsylvania against asbestos exposure claims and claims involving premises, construction site, automotive, elevator and escalator, and SCUBA diving liability. Jason has also represented manufacturers, doctors and hospitals, municipalities, and companies sued under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

As national coordinating counsel for SCUBA and diving professionals liability claims, Jason combines the expertise of the firm’s Management and Professional Liability practice and the litigation bench strength of its General Liability practice to assess, investigate, and defend diving professional liability claims stemming from accidents and incidents on virtually any major body of water in the U.S.

As a certified divemaster, Jason is affiliated with Dip ‘N Dive in Buffalo, New York, where he helps instructors train over 100 new divers each year. He has extensive experience diving throughout the Great Lakes and Niagara Frontier regions, including leading dives in Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and the Niagara River. Jason has also authored articles on diving professional liability and dive preparation in Sport Diver.
