Noah L. Dennison Discusses Impact of New Jersey Parking Lot Law with Business Insurance

Noah L. Dennison, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Workers’ Compensation practice, provides a look into what employers can anticipate in light of a new bill expanding parking lot liability in New Jersey.

“Employers need to know that claims that happen in parking lots now will more often than not be compensable,” Noah said when referring to the impact of the bill, which defines work as commencing when an employee enters a parking lot supplied by an employer.

“Petitioners attorneys were not scared of filing parking lot claims prior to the passage of this,” Noah continued. “We’ve seen a lot over the years, but I think this will just encourage them further to take more and more parking lot claims that may have been on the cusp of compensability before.”
