Philip Unwin, Scott Green, and Todd Jones Join The Business Council Connect Podcast

Three Goldberg Segalla Partners, Philip Unwin, Scott R. Green, and Todd M. Jones engaged in a discussion with The Business Council of New York State on their Connect Podcast, focusing on the current state of workers’ compensation in New York State.

Throughout the podcast, they delved into various topics, including strategies for client management, approaches to hypothetical cases, and underscored the significance of the initial client meeting. Philip emphasized the importance of empathy when interacting with individuals who have sustained injuries, highlighting its positive impact on case outcomes.

Regarding documentation in workers’ compensation cases, Todd highlighted, “The board in New York State is extremely form-heavy.” He elaborated on best practices for documentation, investigations, and collaboration with insurance carriers.

As the vice chair of the firm’s Employment and Labor practice group, Scott provided insights into employer perspectives, emphasizing the importance of maintaining updated policies. “You’re going to want to ensure your policies are in order and understand their application across different circumstances in the workers’ comp realm,” advised Scott.
