Experience
Maxwell C. LaFrance concentrates his practice on counseling and defending clients in a variety of civil claims and disputes. He handles matters from inception through discovery, mediation/arbitration, motion practice, and trial. Maxwell’s experience includes defending the decisions of not for profit corporations through negotiation and litigation. His practice extends to the firm’s Management and Professional Liability group, where he handles cases such as disputes between homeowners and condominium associations.
Maxwell gained experience handling contract disputes, fair housing issues, condominium association governance, and other real estate issues while in private practice. He also served as an appeals referee for the Connecticut Department of Labor, hearing first-level appeals from decisions by the unemployment benefits administrator.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Maxwell’s duties included serving as a first lieutenant and leading a division of 35 sailors.
