Goldberg Segalla added Lewis Y. Liu to the firm’s Product Liability practice group in Chicago.

Lewis counsels and defends manufacturers of consumer and automotive products as well as food and beverages in product liability matters throughout Illinois. He is engaged in litigation from inception through resolution, analyzing the law and facts to develop defense strategy, drafting dispositive motions for summary judgment, personal jurisdiction, forum non conveniens, choice of law and statute of limitations, defending depositions, and strategically cross-examining witnesses.

Before joining private practice, Lewis served as assistant state’s attorney for the misdemeanor and traffic court divisions of the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office, managing jury and bench trials, bond and warrant hearings, arraignments, evidentiary hearings, pre- and post-trial motions, sentencing, probation hearings, and expungements. He developed trial strategies, interviewed witnesses, analyzed evidence, drafted arguments, designed case presentations, and exercised jury selection.

Lewis earned his B.A. from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from the Chicago Kent College of Law.
