Our client, a leading global scaffolding provider, secured a directed verdict in a commercial vehicle accident case pending before a jury in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

In this matter the plaintiff claimed that the commercial vehicle involved in the accident was in the possession and control of the scaffolding provider, which had a long-term rental agreement with the co-defendant, the vehicle owner. The plaintiff’s demand prior to trial approached $1 million.

Goldberg Segalla partner Sean T. Stadelman led the defense — which involved the use of three expert witnesses in vehicle identification, motor vehicle crimes, and digital/smartphone forensics — with assistance from associate Owen R. Field. The jury returned a high six-figure verdict in favor of the plaintiff and against the co-defendant.
