Goldberg Segalla Intensifies Growth in Manhattan

Goldberg Segalla LLP continues its steady Manhattan growth, as several prominent attorneys have joined the firm’s New York office since March 11. These additions highlight a period of robust expansion for the Manhattan office, which recently welcomed:

The growth in Goldberg Segalla’s New York office sparked last year, when James J. Wrynn, the former New York State Superintendent of Insurance and a globally recognized authority on insurance regulation, joined the firm in March 2012. The office now numbers nearly 30 attorneys.

The recent additions significantly enhance Goldberg Segalla’s depth in several growing practice areas that serve clients in the New York market, nationally and internationally, particularly the firm’s Professional Liability,Business and Commercial, and Product Liability Practice Groups.

Emilio Grillo is a nationally recognized trial attorney with two decades of litigation experience in personal injury claims, professional liability claims, commercial disputes, criminal law, labor law, and transportation law. He led the Manhattan office at his previous firm, where he oversaw its defense practice. His clients have included local and national construction and real estate holding companies, product manufacturers, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment companies as well as national and international retailers. Emilio received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Connecticut, and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.

Steven Capobianco is an accomplished attorney whose experience includes handling complex civil litigation, along with mediation, arbitration, and appellate practice. His litigation background includes matters involving product liability, commercial transaction disputes, professional liability, construction and labor law, criminal law, negligent security, toxic torts, premises liability, transportation law, automobile liability, and international trade. He received his B.A. from Fordham University, his M.B.A. from Hofstra University, and his J.D. from Touro Law Center.

Peter Biging is a former vice chair of the professional liability practice at a large, national firm. He is an accomplished trial and appellate attorney with more than 26 years of experience as a litigator in the state and federal courts of New York, and a prolific author and presenter on professional liability and coverage issues. His practice includes the defense of professionals against errors and omissions claims, intellectual property claims, labor and employment practices litigation, commercial litigation, municipal liability litigation, and professional liability coverage work. He received his B.A. from Queens College, The City University of New York, and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

Jennifer Feldscher focuses her practice on professional liability, commercial litigation, municipal liability, and labor and employment. Her professional liability work includes claims against attorneys, insurance agents and brokers, accountants, public officials, consultants, financial advisors, and other professionals. Jennifer has appellate experience at the state and federal level, and her background also includes Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration work. She received her B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Joanne Romero handles professional liability claims against attorneys, public officials, consultants, financial advisors, and other professionals. Her practice also includes employment discrimination litigation, as well as intellectual property litigation involving copyright and trademark infringement, right of publicity, defamation, and unfair competition. Joanne has appellate experience at both the state and federal level. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Jason Ederer focuses his practice on professional liability, intellectual property, and sports and entertainment law. He has state and federal appellate experience, and has litigated on a variety of issues, including alleged constitutional law violations; copyright, trademark, and trade secret infringement; and a wide range of commercial claims. Jason earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan, his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and his LL.M. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

These additions closely followed the March 11 arrival of Eric Cohen to the firm. Eric represents design professionals and others in professional liability and business and commercial lawsuits.
