Goldberg Segalla added Ian J. Fuller to the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice group in Chicago.
Ian is a skilled litigator and zealous advocate for employers, insurers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation cases throughout Illinois. He draws on more than 10 years of experience handling all facets of workers’ compensation defense, including subrogation and Medicare compliance. Ian has represented insurance clients in third-party matters involving lien interests related to workers’ compensation claims and defended employers against third-party claims for contribution. His unique depth of experience with the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute and Illinois Medicaid laws ranges from managing conditional payment and lien disputes to projecting costs for future medical treatment, reviewing vendor-prepared cost projections to ensure quality and obtain the lowest possible set-aside, and preparing settlement contracts. Ian is committed to delivering excellent legal representation and protecting client interests.
Before dedicating his practice to workers’ compensation, Ian focused on employment and civil rights litigation, representing clients in employment discrimination cases stemming from the Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in both state and federal courts. He successfully obtained a summary judgment decision in a Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) claim in the Western District of Wisconsin.
Ian earned his B.S. from the Western Illinois University and his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University.
