Goldberg Segalla added partner Kris E. Lawrence to the firm’s Civil Litigation and Trial group and associate Alexis A. Close to the Workers’ Compensation group in Buffalo.

Kris is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on defending a wide range of general liability matters from inception through trial. He represents businesses and their insurers in general liability, premises liability, product liability, motor vehicle, and employment matters. Kris is also highly experienced in all areas of insurance defense litigation, including motion, trial and appellate practice. In addition to trying cases across New York state, he has handled matters through mediation and arbitration. He has written and presented seminars in the areas of general liability, and automobile and homeowners’ insurance coverage and litigation. Kris earned his bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College and his juris doctor from the Seattle University School of Law.

Alexis counsels and defends employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in all stages of workers’ compensation litigation, from intake through trial and appeal. She draws on experience doing legal research, drafting pleadings, requesting and reviewing medical records, preparing depositions, and preparing matters for trial while working as a paralegal at a number of private law firms. Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York Buffalo State College and her juris doctor from the Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law.
