Goldberg Segalla partner Joseph M. Hanna, founder and president of Bunkers in Baghdad, was featured on WGRZ-TV and WIVB-TV discussing Bunkers’ efforts this holiday season to send golf balls and cards to Afghanistan.
Based in Buffalo, Bunkers in Baghdad is a nonprofit charity that helps our troops by collecting and sending new and used golf balls, clubs, and equipment to U.S. troops in over 70 countries around the world. The charity also established the program, “Bunkers Buddies,” for schoolchildren across the country, with children packing and shipping boxes filled with balls, cards, and letters they write to the soldiers. Since its inception in 2008, Bunkers has collected and shipped over 10 million golf balls and over 800,000 golf clubs.
“Troops will really enjoy the cards when they get them,” Joe told WGRZ-TV. “Then we will send with them a set of clubs, turf and golf tees, and we’ll create their own little driving ranges over there.”
