Retail and Hospitality Practice Group Names Three New Vice Chairs

Goldberg Segalla announces the promotion of partners Kenneth L. Bostick Jr., Allison Jaeger, and J. Daniel Velez to vice chair of the firm’s national Retail and Hospitality practice group. In their new positions, they will manage a team of 20 attorneys and enhance the firm’s national presence in providing collaborative and practical full-service legal counsel, defense and guidance to retail, hospitality, and commercial-development businesses.

Joseph M. Hanna, Retail and Hospitality practice group co-chair, said, “Ken, Allison and Danny are such exceptional attorneys and colleagues. Their deep knowledge of the retail industry gives our national clients the confidence they need to know that our Retail and Hospitality team has the experience needed to help minimize risk and seize opportunities. We congratulate them on their well-deserved promotion.”

Ken is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on product and general liability matters. His clients include restaurants, retail stores, automobile service centers, professional sports franchises, fitness facilities, and manufacturers of sports and fitness equipment. His practice also includes defending negligence claims against nursing homes and assisted-living facilities and representing professional athletes in contract negotiations and disputes. He is a member of Goldberg Segalla’s diversity Task Force which strives to conceptualize and implement diversity-focused programs and give diversity a voice in firm decision-making at the highest level.

“The hallmark of Goldberg Segalla’s practice leaders are their ability to tap into their first-hand knowledge of relevant laws and industry developments to quickly assess and strategize developing situations to ensure our clients are best positioned for success. Ken’s depth of experience and knowledge will serve as a tremendous asset to those we represent, and to other members of the practice group who will continue to learn from him,” Joe said.

Allison is an experienced trial lawyer focusing her practice on trucking and automobile liability defense, product liability, premises liability, professional liability, and construction-defect claims. She is experienced in handling, monitoring, and resolving complex excess risk and catastrophic personal injury claims, both pre-suit and in-suit, with a particular focus on Florida’s bad faith insurance laws. Her trial experience has been focused on retail, product liability matters, motor vehicle accidents, and general liability matters. Jaeger routinely litigates high exposure matters in south and central Florida’s most challenging jurisdictions.

“Allison has become an integral part of Goldberg Segalla and she has continually displayed an outstanding commitment to her clients. The vigorous advocacy she demonstrates on behalf of those she represents fosters trust and confidence, and it’s that kind of dedication that assures clients that Goldberg Segalla always has their backs,” Retail and Hospitality practice group co-chair Rod Janis said.

Danny focuses his practice on defending high-profile retail and food industry corporations, insurance companies, and landowners in a wide variety of litigation, including slip/trip and fall accidents, construction accidents, assaults, and motor vehicle accidents. He represents numerous Fortune 500 clients, including conducting and managing depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, and formulating winning defense strategies for large caseloads. He is also a member of Goldberg Segalla’s Diversity Task Force where he shares his strong commitment to increasing diversity and uses his unique experience and background to support and advance firm diversity goals.

“Dan is a shining example of the skilled counsel that our clients know they can trust. He speaks their language, partners with them on every front, and his focus on serving their needs is unwavering. His commitment to excellence in his profession is matched only by his commitment to the clients he serves,” said Rod.
