Experience
Alexa N. Mellis counsels and defends insurers, employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters in Maryland. She handles all aspects of claims from referral through resolution, including case preparation, negotiation, and litigation before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission and in circuit courts upon appeal.
Before joining a private practice, Alexa was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Charles H. Dorsey, III, in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, preparing materials for trial and motion hearings, coordinating with counsel, and attending court proceedings in civil, criminal, and juvenile court matters. While in law school, Alexa was a corporate counsel extern for the Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland, and a Maryland Rule 19-220 student attorney in the Saul Ewing Civil Advocacy Clinic.
