Experience
Scarlett M. Corso is a skilled litigator with extensive experience arguing cases in state and federal courts. She counsels and defends a wide range of clients in the retail, hospitality, and transportation industries, including regional and national retailers, owners and developers of shopping centers, hotels and resorts, restaurants, and commercial transportation companies.
Scarlett has litigated commercial transportation cases throughout her career, with significant experience conducting emergency investigations of motor vehicle accidents to assist with evidence gathering and preservation. Her civil litigation experience includes liability defense in the areas of premises, transportation, and toxic torts. She has handled various toxic tort matters, including asbestos and mold-related claims.
She also represents clients in liability insurance-subrogation matters involving property-damage claims, particularly those stemming from electrical, fire, and water incidents. Experienced in all aspects of litigation – from on-site investigation through trial – Scarlett has taken more than 15 cases to jury verdict, obtaining substantial recoveries in insurance-subrogation cases. She also has significant experience litigating personal injury claims and previously served as in-house counsel for The Travelers Indemnity Company.
While a student at the University of Baltimore School of Law, Scarlett served as law clerk for the Hon. John N. Prevas, chief judge of the Baltimore City Circuit Court.
