Experience
Jennifer B. Santoro works to aggressively and proactively resolve complex workers’ compensation matters for insurers, third-party administrators, and other clients in a diverse range of industries, including construction, transportation, commercial distribution, employment agencies, food processing, medical organizations, and more. She is the co-leader of the firm’s workers’ compensation team in Illinois, and her extensive experience in the state includes appearances before Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission review panels and in the state’s circuit and appellate court, as well as the resolution of matters through arbitration. A Medicare Set-Aside Consultant, certified through the International Commission on Health Care Certification, Jennifer also serves as co-chair of the firm’s nationwide Medicare Compliance group.
Clients seek Jennifer’s counsel for her top-to-bottom, hands-on approach to handling workers’ compensation claims, which helps minimize risk, lends clarity to the litigation process, and ultimately results in cost-effective case management and closure. At intake, Jennifer performs a thorough investigation, then works directly with the client to create a tailored litigation strategy — that evolves and adapts as matters progress — to best suit their individual needs. She is also well-equipped to help clients deal with Medicare compliance, which has become an increasing concern that complicates all aspects of litigation management. Jennifer is experienced in conditional payment issues, mandatory insurer reporting under Section 111, analyzing the need for Medicare Set-Aside (MSAs) arrangements, and the preparation of those MSAs.
