Experience
Mitra Karimi has extensive experience representing self-insured employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in litigation before the California Workers’ Compensation Board and other venues. She counsels clients on a wide range of complex workers’ compensation and employment matters, and develops effective and innovative litigation strategies. In addition, Mitra provides proactive guidance in improving clients’ return-to-work, workforce management, opioid impact, Medicare compliance, Medicare set-asides, and workers’ compensation programs.
Mitra’s practice also includes litigation of civil matters for companies in the transportation industry, including trucking and logistics across state lines. She defends high exposure catastrophic accidents, on-the-job injuries, subrogation, and wrongful termination claims.
Mitra is a member of Goldberg Segalla’s Diversity Task Force, a team that establishes diversity initiatives, develops strategies, and creates programs to recruit and advance people from diverse backgrounds. She is also active with the firm’s Women’s Initiative, developed by and for women attorneys of the firm to increase visibility, deepen relationships, and expand networks of support for women attorneys.
